The New England chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians (NESAH) is a coalition of practitioners, scholars, and enthusiasts from across New England that promotes the study, interpretation, and conservation of architecture, design, landscapes, and cultural heritage for the benefit of all.

WHO WE ARE

NESAH is the New England chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians. We welcome anyone interested in the history of architecture and the built environment in New England. Current members include architectural historians, architects, planners, builders, preservationists, students and many others who share an interest in the built environment.

WHAT WE DO

NESAH concerns itself with all periods and styles; our goal is a deeper understanding and appreciation of our architectural heritage. NESAH programs and tours encompass building interiors, exteriors, and the designed landscape or urban fabric in which they exist. Lectures given by renowned historians and practicing professionals explore regional, national and international subjects.

WHAT WE VALUE

NESAH values inclusivity, ethical standards, fairness, diversity in all its aspects, and respect for all. We are dedicated to open and informed advocacy for the built environment and the people and cultures that shape and preserve it. We are actively examining our organizational structure and programming in order to better represent a diverse range of perspectives in the field of architectural history at large.
